It’s been widely hailed as the greatest sermon ever preached and a masterpiece of religious and social ethics. Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 5-7, commences with the “beatitudes”, a series of eight blessings that Jesus gives to those who suffer, mourn, and express purity of heart. Bishop Barron walks through each beatitude and unveils its deeper meaning. A listener asks whether, according to Thomas Aquinas, God loves everyone the same or has a special hatred for sinners.

At 18:40 in Fr. Barron’s presentation he shares the need for singleness of heart (soul). This reminds me of the 1st commandment (description) in Mark 12:30, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.”. I have concluded that when one is doing this, everything else flows naturally so that we find ourselves back in the Garden of Eden and God’s Will is done “on earth as it is in Heaven.”

  3. Susan McDonald Thank you for writing from your heart. I, too, have found that I have been holding onto old expectations that are not where I am at anymore. In fact I was working on my One Little Word assignment with Ali Edwards Big Picture class this morning and asking myself “where am I?” with my word and realized it was time to let go of some things holding me back and forge a new path. I opened my Google Reader and there was your blog post. Synchroncity? Yes. Confirming direction for me.

  4. Day 3 lost me. Did the 19 spd stitch and they did not go all the way around, not even to the marked stitch. I must have goofed up on Day 1 or 2. Patterns and I don’t get along.

  7. eyes open. He doesn’t even realize that he is expressing the rationale for Native Americans to ask for their land back. Oh, right, the police/military called those original land owners bad names and wrote laws to justify genocide. Laws are written in ink but the people decide if they are enforceable.

  8. Hei Jenni!

  9. Good to know! If we NPC Aralis or Mirror Mirror or Cottington in the spring, will we be able to apply that CP to our characters at game start? If we go over the 5 CP maximum, could we carry the remainder forward to the 9 CP for 2013?
